As the leader of your team, how do you foster positivity? I suggest that you dedicate time to sharing wins with your team.
My team and I gather for 15 minutes every morning to share what we’re working on for the day. But on Tuesdays we meet for a full hour to work through an agenda of business items.
The first agenda item is always: Did you have a “Win” this past week?
It’s fun to share positive activities with your team. It lifts people’s spirits at a time when we seem to consume more negativity than what we should.
It could be a compliment that you received from a patient. Or a big procedure you just performed. Maybe you noticed a staff member who went above and beyond to provide excellent service. Whatever it might be, big or small, take time to celebrate it with your team.
Sharing wins not only provides for a great start to a team agenda, it also provides for a great start to your day. Take some time at the beginning of each day to be grateful and assess your daily tasks that are moving you towards your goals. Doing so will keep you focused on being a positive leader.
